When listening at home my recommendation is to get comfortable and ask yourself if there is any delight you can provide yourself with, anything that might seem a luxury you may not ordinarily indulge in, an item of clothing/jewellery that means something or feels delicious, essential oils/fragrance, a rose that can rest on your nose for you to inhale throughout, a piece of chocolate that can slowly melt in your mouth while you listen.... Equally you can come JUST AS YOU ARE and it will be absolutely special.
Some suggestions:
The best sound set up you can achieve - stereo or good headphones ideal
An eyemask
A bolster for under the knees
Pillow for your head
Cosy layers - you may drop into deep rest and a lower temperature
Some hot tea for when you finish
A pen and paper to note anything that arrives during the session, or just to write a love letter to yourself maybe?
It is completely normal to experience total relaxation and to even doze off with a sense of sleeping while not sleeping/a dreamy state. Some people experience getting super heavy and feeling like they wouldn't even be able to move if they tried. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to experience this session.
If you have any questions or experience anything you would like to share please just drop me a line.
Those who have been here a while may recognise threads of this - whenever I am on the threshold of transformation I find it SO helpful to tune in to the feeling of the space I want to move into; the bowls support this so perfectly, allowing an amplification of the essence of what you are seeking and bringinging it into this moment now. Bridging formlessness and form to birth new ways of being. Simply - amplifying the whisper of something you already know in order to immerse you in it entirely, and therefore make it real in your daily experience. You can then tune back in any time you are off course and remind yourself of the essential frequency of what you are stepping into.
I recommend journalling a bit with this one, taking time to note how you feel in all areas of your life and sitting with your intentions for how you want to feel in these relationships, environments and situations. Are there new environments, people, projects and scenarios you would like to experience? How do they feel?
SPIRALS OF RELATING AND LIVING - intentions for 2026
These recordings and visuals are my offering around ‘intentions’ for this time of the year - I uploaded them as part of last year’s Yuletide Slumber series.
We begin with looking at how and what we are currently, then (over the coming days, prepare with journalling if you wish) the following recordings were all about tuning in to the frequency and felt sense of how and what we want to be. You can purchase the full ‘New Year Meditations and Practices’ package to access all of these.
I’ve written these out in the way I am working with them, to make it as clear as possible. I am adding more writing as I complete the meditations and am then burning these pieces of paper. I want them to feel beautiful and substantial - to feel the longing I have to hold on to the shape of the person I am today, and also to let her go, into the fires of transmutation, with thanks.
The spirals of these two are anti-clockwise; the unravelling, walking the first half of the labyrinth; tracing the path of the chiminigagua - the spiral of the uncreate and the create (maybe revisit the litany?)
These recordings are to support journalling and reflection to be fully present with ourselves as we are now, with love, and to allow an excavation - a scooping, hollowing, removing the plaque of old patterns and behaviours we are ready to release, a time to drop into the deep peaceful expanse of the dark death realms and allow that which is dying, to go. With our love, our presence, our songs and hums and inscriptions. We can burn or bury these in our imagined and real ceremonies, to loosen the grip of habits that have shaped us and allow space for change.
I’ve worked with smudges/herbs/resins and our candle to support this work for myself - you might want to explore creating an altar, bringing in elements or objects to support you - whatever feels good to you. There may be other areas you wish to consider in terms of how you are living and relating - of course these are welcome! I would love to know any of your reflections that you feel to share.
